Love in Tokyo Headbands

The mention of Bali Jatra stirs fond memories in Geeta Satpathy, 59. She was around seven when she first visited the jatra and she still remembers the excitement at the sight and sounds of the venue as a little girl. “We hopped from shop to shop, particularly the ones selling knick-knacks. I and my siblings would not stop gushing over the trinkets. Love in Tokyo headbands were quite a rage then. The film had just released and we had seen the Asha Parekh wearing them in posters. We bought quite a few and had to be dragged away when we demanded more.”
