Bhubaneswar: The state members of the Hindu Jagaran Manch (HJM) on Thursday staged a demonstration, here, against the murder of Faridabad-based college girl Nikita Tomar following a failed kidnap attempt on October 26.
They held placards and raised slogans demanding justice for Nikita by awarding harsh punishment to the culprits. They termed the crime as ‘love jihad’.
“This is a very serious issue and it has a lot of repercussions on the society. We urge the government to take strong action against the culprits,” said an HJM member.
Two car-borne assailants had gunned down 21-year-old in Haryana’s Faridabad district in broad daylight. The prime accused and his accomplice were subsequently arrested.
