Bhubaneswar: Mahila Police in Bhubaneswar on Friday detained a Kashmiri Muslim youth, Samir Mansoor, for allegedly blackmailing a Hindu woman of Odisha’s Jagtsinghpur using obscene video.
He was picked up by police after arriving here from Kashmir.
According to the woman’s lawyer, she came in contact with a person, who identified himself as Samir, on a gaming site about 2 years ago and then they exchanged phone numbers. He then visited Odisha and took her to Puri, where she got to know that he is a Muslim. “When she refused to take the relationship to the next level, he forced her into a physical relation and also shot those intimate moments. He then persuaded her to change her religion and marry him, while threatening to make the obscene videos viral,” he told reporters.
He allegedly extorted Rs 5 lakh from her parents threatening to upload those videos on a porn site and wanted to forcibly take her to Kashmir, following which she lodged a complaint with police.
The victim woman said the youth is a native of Bihar and working in Kashmir. “I got to know that he is a Muslim about 6-7 months after coming in contact with him. He has been mentally torturing me and my family since then,” she said.
