Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for 18 districts of Odisha.
It attributed it to the low-pressure formed over the North Bay of Bengal in the morning.
The national weather agency, in a mid-day bulletin, said that the low pressure will further intensify in the next 24 hours due to the merger of the cyclonic circulation over the Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh. Under its influence, there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places across Odisha with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places in the next 12 hours. There will be severe waterlogging in the low-lying areas due to heavy rainfall, it added
