Low Pressure In Bay: Heavy Rain Likely In Odisha For 5 Days

Bhubaneswar: After remaining subdued for nearly two weeks, the south-west monsoon has become active in Odisha with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall for five days.

“A cyclonic circulation lying over the north-west Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood is most likely to concentrate into a low-pressure area over the same area during next 48 hours. As the low pressure will be more intense under the influence of the east-west shear zone which is tilting southwards, there will be heavy rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall at or two places across Odisha,” said the IMD in a mid-day bulletin on Wednesday.
