Low Pressure Over Bay Of Bengal: IMD Forecasts Four Days Of Heavy Rainfall Over Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s regional centre has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall over several districts of Odisha in the next four days under the influence of a low-pressure area that formed over westcentral Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood on Monday.

Forecast for next four days:

Oct 4 (Valid till 8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Oct 4 (8.30 am) to Oct 5 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning

* Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati and Ganjam.

* Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak and Nayagarh.

Oct 5 (8.30 am) to Oct 6 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Oct 6 (8.30 am) to Oct 7 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh.
