Bhubaneswar: Cold wave may continue to prevail in Odisha till December 17 morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
Yellow warning has been issued for Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur and Angul districts. Dense fog is also likely at one or two places in Koraput and Kandhamal till December 18 morning. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places in Kalahandi and Sundargarh during this period.
The weather agency further predicted a rise in the night temperature by 3-5 degree Celsius after 24 hours amid rainfall activity under the influence of a low-pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal that would strengthen the flow of easterly winds carrying moisture into the state.

The system is expected to become more marked and move west-northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu coast during the next two days.
Light rain may occur at one or two places in Ganjam and Gajapati on December 17 and Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri on December 18. There is a forecast for light to moderate rain at one or two places in Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts on December 19, and Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal on December 20.
Light rain may continue at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada districts on December 21.
