Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over north Odisha and its neighbourhood around July 4, said Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Friday.
The formation of the fresh low-pressure system is likely to intensify rainfall activities in the state.
On Thursday, the Met Office had forecast the formation of two weather systems over the Bay of Bengal between July 1 and July 14. There is a likelihood of a low pressure/cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast at the beginning of the week (July 1-July7) and another at the beginning of the second week (July 8-July 14), the IMD said.
The weather systems are expected to enhance monsoon activities over central India, including Odisha and the west coast of the country during the first and second week of the month, it added.
