Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area lies over the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast and it is likely to move westwards during the next 48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.
It has forecast thunderstorm and lightning over Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Coastal Andhra Pradesh till November 1 and over Rayalaseema between October 29 and November 1.
Dry weather will prevail over most parts of Northwest, West and Central India and many parts of East and Northeast India during the next 5 days, it added.
In its mid-day bulletin, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre predicted light to moderate rain in some parts of Odisha till 8.30 am on November 2.

The Met office further said that there was a marked fall in the maximum temperature at one or two places over north coastal Odisha, while the minimum temperature observed rose at one or two places in South Interior Odisha.
