Low Pressure To Become Well-Marked In 48 Hours: IMD Issues Orange Warning

Bhubaneswar: The Low Pressure Area over coastal areas of south Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood, which now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast with associated cyclonic circulation, is very likely to become more marked during the next 48 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s regional centre here.

The IMD forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over several Odisha districts over the next five days under the influence of the system.

July 12 (Till 8.30 pm)

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Boudh, Nuapada, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Sonepur, Puri, Khurda and Balasore.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

July 12 (8.30 pm) to July 13 (8.30 pm)

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul and Balangir.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of interior Odisha and at many places over coastal Odisha.

July 13 (8.30 pm) to July 14 (8.30 pm)

Yellow warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

July 14 (8.30 pm) to July 15 (8.30 pm)

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Bargarh.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Gajapati and Rayagada.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

July 15 (8.30 pm) to July 16 (8.30 pm)

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.
