Low Pressure To Trigger Heavy Rain In Odisha, Warns IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday warned that there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in south coastal districts of Odisha due to a low-pressure formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal.

IMD also said that the low pressure has made the conditions favourable for further advance of the south-west monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Bay of Bengal and northeastern states, Sikkim, some parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during subsequent 48 hours.

Going by the movement of the monsoon, it will most likely hit the Odisha coast either on June 11 or 12.

Due to the formation of the low-pressure area, IMD has issued yellow and orange warning for the following districts.
