Bhubaneswar: The low-pressure area formed in north-west Bay Bengal is likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha for the next five days, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, informed on Thursday.
“Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over West-Central and adjoining North-West Bay of Bengal, low pressure has formed over the same region. It added that the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level,” it tweeted.
The Met Office has advised fishermen against venturing into the sea.
