Lowest Number Of Daily COVID Deaths In India Since May As 78 Succumb In 24 Hours

New Delhi: A total of 78 people succumbed to the novel coronavirus in India during the last 24 hours. It’s the lowest number of daily COVID deaths since May 1 last year.

According to data provided by the Union Health and Family Welfare ministry, the total death toll is currently 1.5 lakh.

As far as new cases of COVID-positive patients in the country, 12,059 were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the aggregate caseload past the 1.08 crore mark since the pandemic broke in March 2020.

The number of active cases in India right now is down to 1.48 lakh, which happens to be a mere 1.37 per cent of the country’s total caseload.
