Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience widespread rainfall activity for the next few days with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.

“Under influence of a cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low-pressure area is likely to form over Central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours. It is very likely to move westnorthwestward and concentrate into a Depression during subsequent 48 hours,” said the IMD said in a mid-day bulletin on Friday.

Due to the low pressure, heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of the state in the next few days.
