Sundargarh: The driver and helper of a truck loaded with LPG cylinders had a narrow escape as the vehicle caught fire in the district on Saturday.
According to sources, when the truck was going from Jharsuguda to Rourkela on the Sambalpur-Rourkela Expressway, the driver noticed smoke coming out of the engine near Rasrajpur village in the district.
The driver stopped the truck on road side and he along with the helper came out of it. As the engine caught fire, the driver informed the Fire Brigade.
The Fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flame. Fortunately, except the engine, the fire had not spread to the body of the truck when the Fire personnel extinguished it.
