Bhubaneswar: Actress Kangana Ranaut and industrialist Naveen Jindal figured in the BJP’s 5th list of candidates for Lok Sabha elections, which was released on Sunday.
The BJP has nominated Kangana for Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Jindal for Kurukshetra in Haryana. Jindal, a former Congress MP, joined the BJP earlier in the day. He had won twice from the same seat on Congress ticket.
The saffron party has dropped Varun Gandhi from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and allotted the seat to former Congress leader Jitin Prasada. But his mother and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has been nominated by the party for Sultanpur in the state.
The BJP had nominated Actor Arun Govil, who played Ram in the popular TV serial Ramayan, in Meerut Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
