Lt Gen Manoj Pande Set To Succeed Lt Gen CP Mohanty As Vice-Chief Of Army

New Delhi: Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, the Eastern Army Commander, is set to assume charge as the next Vice-Chief of Army Staff.

Lt Gen Pande will succeed Lt Gen C P Mohanty, who retires on January 31.

A National Defence Academy (NDA) graduate, Lt Gen Pande was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers (The Bombay Sappers) in 1982. He is a graduate of Staff College, Camberley (United Kingdom) and attended the Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow, and the National Defence College (NDC) at New Delhi.

Lt Gen Pande took active part in Operation Vijay and Operation Parakram.
