Baripada: Similipal, one of India’s unique biospheres, is at its scenic best in the fall when artists from different parts of the country will come together to engage with the unbridled nature.
During their week-long stay at Aranya Nivas, Lulung, Similipal, they will get an exceptional opportunity to explore and associate themselves with the bounty of nature and the inhabitants of the biosphere.
This will be the second Lulung Painters’ Camp 2024 to be organised by Ketaki Foundation Trust in collaboration with Aranya Nivas, Lulung from 10 to 15 September, 2024. The theme of the camp will be ‘I AM WITH NATURE’.
The participants will coalesce into the bountiful nature, connect with its inhabitants and delve into their creative world to produce their own interpretations through drawings and paintings. They will also be exposed to the rich and delightful folk arts of Mayurbhanj.
A visit to the historic terracotta temple, nature trails, art workshops with the tribal populace, seminars, discussions and presentations on various subjects revolving around the collaboration of art and nature and their conservation are on the agenda.
The works of art, created extempore at the camp by the participating artists and the tribal people will be displayed in a special exhibition at Bhubaneswar from 10 to 15 January, 2025.
Renowned artist Ramahari Jena will convene the event.
Artists participating in the camp are – Chakradhar Behera, Gauranga Bariki, Kishore Kumar Sahoo, Lipishree Nayak, Nilansu Bala Sasmal, Pratul Kumar Dash, Subhendu Mishra, Subrat Kumar Mullick, Tapan Kumar Dash, Tribhuvan Kumar Deo, the organisers said.
