Mumbai: Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan’s much talked-about cameo in the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Coolie’, which hit screens on Thursday, has left fans disappointed.
Aamir’s transformed look in ‘Coolie’s trailer and poster made fans look forward to his role in the film, which was kept under wraps.
Following the film’s release, fans felt Aamir has made a clown of himself by accepting the role.
Initially, some reports had claimed that the cameo was offered to Shah Rukh Khan, but he couldn’t take it up because of his busy schedule.
Shah Rukh fans are happy that he didn’t take up the role.
A post on Reddit by BollyBlindsNGossip read, “So SRK really dodged a bullet by rejecting this cameo.”
Soon, the comments section was flooded with reviews for Aamir’s cameo.
“Big escape. Worst cameo per reviews,” read one comment.
Another person posted, “Yeah, made a (clown emoji) out of him.”
One fan wrote, “The last 15 mins were UNBEARABLE. Why did he even accept to do this cameo? I was so done with the fight sequences. The movie by itself was super annoying. Liked the first half. Second half was super random.”
Another user commented, “Just came back from the FDFS of the Tamil version. Believe me, Aamir was wasted like anything. Dont know why even agreed to do this cameo. It was laugh-worthy.”
“Believe it, Loki cannot use Bollywood actors; he only casts them to gain hype,” complained one person.
“It was an unnecessary cameo, but it was pretty fun. Least it lent to a really great flashback sequence with a de-aged Rajini. Was cute hearing Aamir speak Tamizh too, and pretty well at that,” wrote one netizen.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Coolie’ stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Aamir.
