Mumbai: Actor Madhuri Dixit has been roped in to play the character in Abhishek Varman’s next movie, which was initially supposed to be played by Sridevi.
Karan Johar, who announced he would reuniting with ‘2 States-fame’ Abhishek for his next project, had approached Sridevi for playing the character in October last year.
Sridevi, who had agreed to play the role, however, died on February 24 in Dubai due to accidental drowning. Sharing the news on Instagram, Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi wrote, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart …Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuri ji for now being a part of this beautiful film…”
Co-producedby Sajid Nadiawala, the details about the film, including its title is yet to be revealed. The film is expected release on April 19, next year.
