Mumbai: Bollywood’s Dhak Dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit took to social media on Wednesday to tease fans with a cryptic post hinting at her return to small screen with a dark thriller series titled ‘Mrs Deshpande’.
In the upcoming JioHotstar series, touted to be a remake of ‘La Mante’, Madhuri will be seen playing a serial killer, one of the darkest characters of her career.
In the 20-second teaser, Madhuri is seen removing her jewellery and makeup, when the scene changes abruptly to show her in a prison uniform.
Earlier in the day, Madhuri created a buzz with her cryptic Instagram post featuring reworked lyrics from her iconic songs like “Ek Do Teen Chaar Paanch Cheh Saath Aath” and “Bholi si surat, ankhon mein masti” along with the caption “Coming soon.”
Speaking at the IIFA Awards earlier this year, Madhuri said, “There’s no conscious effort as such, but the role came my way, and I thought it’s something I would love to do because it explores a different part of me, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Mrs Deshpande’ had been directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. The release date of the series is yet to be announced.
