Vidisha: Madhya Pradesh Police recently arrested a man from Sironj in Vidisha district for making fake currency notes after his release from jail where he learned printing techniques as part of vocational skill training provided to inmates, PTI reported.

Police recovered 95 counterfeit notes, each with a face value of Rs 200, a colour printer, six ink bottles and paper used to manufacture crisp fake notes from the accused Bhupendra Singh Dhakat (35).

According to Sironj police, the accused has 11 criminal cases, including murder against him. He had learnt printing techniques as part of vocational training programme provided to assist inmates in reintegrating into society after their release.

“Inmates are given off-set printing and screen printing training to help them eke out a living after release,” told Vidisha Jail superintendent Priyadarshan Shrivastava to media.

The accused has confessed that he had been printing the bogus notes and pumping them into the market in the district for the past few months, Sironj Sub Divisional Officer Police Umesh Tiwari told PTI

In October 2003, Dhakat was externed from the limits of Vidisha, Rajgarh, Raisen, Bhopal and Ashok Nagar districts for a year, but he managed to stay and print fake notes, police told.
