Mumbai: Amidst the hullabaloo over Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and Bollywood drug nexus, the Maharashtra government has issued a tender of Rs 5.43 crore for selecting an agency to handle Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s social media.
The BJP was quick to pounce on the Shiv Sena, with youth wing national convener Devang Dave taking to Twitter to slam the state government for wasting public money over social media campaigns, when it apparently has no money to pay its employees during the COVID-19 crisis.
According to the tender, the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations is looking forward to engage an agency for improving Thackeray’s image on social media.
The agency will have to plan mass campaigns for reaching out to the citizens with government schemes.
