Bhubaneswar: Khurda district administration and the Lingaraj Temple Trust Board have decided to conduct the ‘Maha Shivaratri’ at the temple in the city amid COVID restrictions like last year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Khurda collector and members of the Board on Friday. As per the decision, the ‘Mahadeep’ will be placed atop the temple at 10 pm on the Maha Shivaratri on March 1.
The decision on entry of devotees to the temple on the day has not been taken. Both Board members and the collector will hold another round of talks to take a decision later.
It may be noted that in view of decline in COVID positive cases, all religious institutions have been opened to the devotees in the city since February 12.
