Puri: Maha Snana (grand purification) rituals were held in Jagannath temple here on Sunday afternoon after blood stains were spotted in the premises.
So how was blood shed in the holy compound?
It was learnt that there was a scuffle between two Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) personnel, with one of them — identified as Manoj Panigrahi — being injured after he was attacked by another cop.
Manoj had an argument with Ganga Pradhan, who allegedly attacked the former with a wooden stick around 1.50 pm.
Manoj has been admitted to the Puri Sadar Hospital.
No complaint has been registered at the Simhadwara police station.
The temple is closed for devotees on Sunday.
