Bhubaneswar: Three members of a family found dead inside their house at Chintamaneswar under Laxmisagar police station in Bhubaneswar.
The family members were found hanging inside the house on Plot No. 1508 at 9.30 pm on Wednesday night after the landlady, Surekha Uttam Pawar, called police when there was no response to her repeated knocks and phone calls.
The family, including husband, wife and 15-month-old girl, hailed from Maharashtra. The deceased were identified as Tushar Rajendra Jagtap, Neha Tushar Jagtap and 15-month-old Shivanya. The family was from Satara district in Maharashtra.
The landlady used to deliver food to the family everyday. On Wednesday night also, she had gone to the family’s house to provide dinner.
Tushar used to work as a caretaker at Krishna Palace at Master Canteen here.
Police suspect the couple committed suicide by hanging themselves from the skylight of their bedroom after killing their daughter. The reason is suspected to be family dispute owing to property-related issues.
The house owner told the police that the husband and wife used to have fights.
