Mahasweta Ray To Cast A Spell With Family Drama ‘Saathi Tu Pheria’

Bhubaneswar: Veteran actress Mahasweta Ray has been signed up for the upcoming Odia flick ‘Saathi Tu Pheria’.

The mahurat of the film was recently held here.

Sai Sraddha Studio’s first production, the film is being produced by Bini Samal and Nihar Samal. While Sudhakar Vasant will don the director’s hat, Prem Anand will score the music.

Jyoti has been paired opposite Anubha in the film. The other star cast includes Mantu, Anisha, Sritam, Pintu Nanda and Pinky Pradhan.

Speaking about her character, Mahasweta said, “I am happy to have got another opportunity to act in a film. It is a powerful role and the story revolves around me. I am playing mother to the lead actor. I have two sons and the story depicts the bonding among family members.”

It is a complete family entertainer, she added.

It is for the first time that Jyoti and Anubha will be seen romancing on the silver screen.

Jyoti had earlier worked opposite Elina, Tamanna and Jhilik while Anubha was seen in ‘Sweet Heart’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Bajrangi’ and ‘Samaya Bada Balaban’.

“The film goes to the floors this week. The tentative release date is Raksha Bandhan or Ganesh Puja,” said Samal.
