Mumbai: Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Pooja Bhatt has slammed the media for terming the WhatsApp chat between Rhea Chakraborty and her father as ‘explosive’.
To set the records straight, Pooja took to her Twitter handle and explained that her father had sent the same message to her and countless number of other people on his contact list.
It was just a WhatsApp forward message and there was nothing ‘explosive’ about it, tweeted Pooja.
“Interestingly, the message @IndiaToday refers to as ‘most explosive revelation’ is a message that my father also sent me & countless other people on his phone list on the same day (June 9) & subsequently posted on Twitter as well (26-6-2020) get your facts right,” wrote Pooja.
Mahesh Bhatt’s wife Soni Razdan also took to her Twitter handle, agreeing with Pooja’s post.
Soni also shared a screenshot from her phone to show that she too had received such a message from Bhatt.
“Yes true. Here is mine. We get them every day. When will news channels actually give us real news and not fabricated spin-offs? Most seem to have turned into uglier more salacious versions of Stardust and Cine Blitz,” tweeted Soni.
Mahesh Bhatt and Rhea’s alleged closeness has led to raised eyebrows post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Recently, a WhatsApp conversation between Bhatt and Rhea went viral on social media platforms, giving rise to speculation about their relationship.
Some of the messages sent by Bhatt to Rhea are as follows:
“Sometimes to really see things the way that they truly are, you have to take a step back, and another step, and then a few more.”
“Loneliness plays a key in nurturing the seed of personal creativity and birthing one’s true self.”
Reports alleged that it was Bhatt who had asked Rhea to part ways with Sushant.
After Rhea left Sushant’s house on June 8, the latter was found hanging at his residence on June 14.
