Mumbai: Late actor Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan recently alleged that filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt had threatened her at her daughter’s funeral.
In an interview with India Today, Rabia revealed that it was Bhatt who told her that Jiah was suffering from depression.
When she firmly told him that Jiah was not depressed, Bhatt threatened her by saying that she will have to face the consequences.
“At my daughter’s funeral, Mahesh Bhatt came to me and said that Jiah was depressed. I said, ‘Excuse me sir. She was never depressed’,” Rabia was quoted as saying.
“Bhatt told me, ‘Tum chup hojao varna tumhe bhi injection deke sula dege.’ Victim are made criminals here and they accuse their families, saying that we want money,” she recalled.
Slamming the veteran filmmaker, Rabia said that he is the ‘mouthpiece’ of Bollywood mafia and a ‘pathetic’ person.
She also alleged that Bhatt used to ‘intimidate’ Jiah when she was just 16 years old.
“He told me to leave her alone. How could I leave her alone? I will speak for justice. I will tell the world what these people are,” said Rabia.
Actress Jiah allegedly died by suicide on June 3, 2013. Her mother Rabia, however, maintains that Jiah was murdered by her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi.
