Bhubaneswar: Police picked up more than 50 activists of Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress as they tried to barge into Naveen Niwas on Friday.
Notably, the Mahila Congress on February 4 had sought a clarification from Chief Minister on the rising incidents of crime against women including a minor girl student getting pregnant while staying in the hostel of a sevashram high school in Malkangiri district.
As there was no clarification from the Chief Minister, several Mahila Congress activists, holding placards and black balloons took out a rally from the Congress Bhawan to the Naveen Niwas on Friday.
However, the Mahila Congress activists had a scuffle with the police as stopped them from entering into the Naveen Niwas. The irate activists later hurled tomatoes at the police. Police later picked up more than 50 activists.
