Mahindra’s MD Pawan Goenka on Thursday announced the launch of eKUV in the first quarter of the next financial year.
“We have the eKUV that will come up in the first quarter of next year. And again, our focus is on shared mobility and, therefore, we are focused on how to make it affordable and really pricing it less than Rs 9 lakh,” said Goenka.
The sub 9 lakh price tag will make the electric KUV one of the most affordable electric cars in India.
Mahindra is currently leading the space in the electric vehicle in India, having clocked more than 100 million ekms after partnering with Lithium Urban Technologies which provides corporate mobility solutions. Lithium currently has over 1,000 Mahindra electric vehicles in its fleet. Over 500 Mahindra EVs have covered more than 1 lakh ekms.
Goenka also revealed that the company is working on an electric quadricycle that will help “redefine last-mile connectivity”.
