Bhubaneswar: Mahindra has announced the prices of its hottest product of the year – Thar 2020.

Based on a new chassis, the Thar has a ground clearance of 226 mm and can wade through 650 mm of water. It has a 42-degree approach angle and a 37-degree departure angle.
The interiors are washable with IP54 rating (drizzle resistant) for the dashboard switches.
It has roof-mounted speakers and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The display shows pitch and roll angles, G meter, and other off-roading parameters.
It also has Smart Watch & Phone Connectivity with Blue Sense App. Like other Mahindras, there’s Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. In addition to that, there’s Tyre Direction Monitoring System as well.
The petrol 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion engine makes 150 BHP power and 320 Nm torque while the diesel 2.2-litre mHawk engine makes 130 BHP power and 320 Nm torque. Both engines come with 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive with a manual-shift transfer case is also standard.
The Thar comes with options of fixed soft top or hard top.
It also has mechanical locking differential on the rear axle, brake locking differential and electromechanical driveline disconnect.
Safety-wise, there’s dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, cruise control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, optional roll cage and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
The new Mahindra Thar is available in six colours — Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, Rocky Beige and Aquamarine.
