Main accused in Rourkela double murder arrested

Rourkela: Chhend police here on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the September 26 double murder with the arrest of Istar Lenka’s second husband Braja Sundar Sahu.

Bodies of Istar and her niece Madhusmita Sahu were recovered from a house at Chhend Colony on September 27. The door of the house was locked from inside while the window was found broken.

According to police sources, Braja attacked the duo with an iron rod and knife while they were fast asleep on September 26. In his statement to police, Braja confessed to have killed them after Istar denied him a share in property and her niece supported her on the issue, the sources added.
