Mumbai: Actor Ajay Devgn, who will be returning as an income tax officer with ‘Raid 2’, left audience in splits during the trailer launch of the film with his cheeky reply when asked ‘how he will manage’ if residences of industry colleagues, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, are searched.
At the launch event, held in Mumbai earlier on Tuesday, when Ajay was asked what he would do if there was a raid at Salman or Shah Rukh houses, the actor cheekily replied, “Main officer film me hu. Main unke ghar nahi ja raha hu raid karne. Mujhe kya manage karna hai mujhe samajh me aaya nahi. Kyuki jab kisi ke ghar raid padi hogi to main apne ghar pe baitha hounga ya mere yaha padegi to wo log ghar pe baithe honge. To kuch manage karna hi nahi hai (I play an officer in the film. I’m not going to their houses for real. So, I don’t really know what I need to manage. If ever there’s a raid at their houses, I’ll be sitting at my house, and vice-versa. So, I can’t really manage anything).”

Besides Ajay, the film will feature Riteish Deshmukh as a powerful and corrupt politician, and Vaani Kapoor as Ajay’s love interest.
In the trailer, IRS officer Amay Patnaik (played by Ajay Devgn) is seen gearing up for his 75th raid at the house of a corrupt politician, Dadabhai (played by Riteish).
The trailer hints at an intense showdown as Amay creates a ‘chakravyuh’ and challenges Dadabhai by saying, “Main poori Mahabharat la raha hu (I will be recreating the entire Mahabharat).”
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, ‘Raid 2’ is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1.
Bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar, the film is a sequel to Ajay’s 2018 ‘Raid’.
