New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the main in the Sidhu Moose Wala assassination case was arrested on Saturday near the West Bengal-Nepal border.
Terming it as a ‘major breakthrough’ in the case, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said the arrest of absconding Deepak alias Mundi was a result of a joint operation carried out by central agencies and Delhi Police.
“Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were arrested today by the AGTF team at the WB-Nepal border in the culmination of an intelligence-based operation. Deepak was the shooter in Bolero module, Kapil Pandit & Rajinder provided logistical support including weapons & hideouts,” Yadav wrote on Twitter.

Two other killers of Moose Wala — identified as Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh — were shot dead after an encounter
with Punjab Police near Amritsar on July 20. An AK-47 rifle and pistol were recovered from the slain duo.Punjabi singer-turned-politician Moose Wala was gunned down in Jawaharke village of Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder in a Facebook post.
