Major Drug Haul In Odisha! Brown Sugar Worth Over Rs 1 Crore Seized, 3 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: In a massive drug haul, Crime Branch STF seized 1.26 kg brown sugar in Khurda and arrested three drug peddlers, informed DGP Abhay.

The arrested have been identified as Md Saiyaz alias Aftab of Mastan Road in Cuttack, Sk Kamruddin alias Muna of Chakhandi in Bhadrak and) Sourav Pattanaik of Palla in Khurda.

They were apprehended during a raid against the illegal trade of narcotic drugs near Khurda bus stand. During the search, brown sugar and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession, an official release said.

The trio will be forwarded to the court of District and Sessions Judge, Kjurda.

A case under Sections 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985, has been registered and further investigation is on, the release added.

Since 2020, the STF has seized more than 36 kg brown sugar/heroin and more than 74 quintals 38 kg ( 7438 ) of ganja/marijuana and arrested more than 100 drug dealers/peddlers.
