Cuttack: A major fire broke out in a car showroom at Bhanapur on Cuttack-Phulnakhara NH-6 on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the fire reportedly began around 6 am. As many as seven fire tenders from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were pressed into service to douse the flames using breathing apparatus.
“There was no casualty and no one was injured in the mishap. Though the loss of assets could not be ascertained immediately, spare parts, accessories and Mobil lubricant oil worth several lakhs of rupees stocked in the second floor of the three-storey building were gutted,” said a fire official.
An electric short circuit is suspected to have led to the mishap.
