Bhubaneswar: A massive fire broke out near the Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Odisha’s Jharsuguda on Monday.
As per information, the fire broke out in a forest area close to the airport around the noon. Soon, the flames spread to the nearby areas.
Over four fire tenders were pressed into operation to douse the flame. The district administration and airport authorities responded swiftly to prevent the blaze from spreading further.
Fire service personnel took around two hours to control the fire. Senior officials of the district administration supervised the entire operation.
A major mishap was averted as the administration took prompt steps to control the blaze.
