Bhadrak: Fifteen shops were reduced to ashes as a major fire engulfed Rathapada Market under Basudevpur block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district late on Wednesday.
According to sources, the fire broke out in a shop around 2 pm and soon spread to nearby shops. The intensity of the blaze was so high that the shopkeepers were unable to retrieve their goods.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel soon reached the spot and it took them around 2 hours to doused the flames.
Those gutted included eateries and shops selling vegetables, grocery, stationery and shoes.
The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
