Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government effected a major reshuffle in the police administration, transferring and posting 18 IPS and OPS officers across various key positions in the state.
A notification was released by the Home Department with details of the new appointments.
As per the notification, Santosh Bala (IPS, 1995 batch) has been posted as Director, SFSL, while S Praveen Kumar (IPS, 2002 batch) has been appointed IG of Police, Provisioning.
Gajbhiyye Satish Kumar Iswardas (IPS, 2002 batch) has been appointed as IG of Police, Special Armed Police, and Sanjay Kumar Kaushal (IPS, 2003 batch) has been shifted to IG of Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
Other notable changes include Avinash Kumar (IPS, 2007), who will head the State Crime Record Bureau, while Satyajit Naik (IPS, 2008) takes charge as DIG of Police, Central Range. Pinak Mishra (IPS, 2011) has been elevated to DIG of Police, Eastern Range.
Among the district postings, Prateek Singh (IPS, 2014) has been transferred as SP, Puri, Vivekanand Sharma (IPS, 2014) to SP, Khurda, and Parmar Smit Parshottamdas (IPS, 2013) as SP, Crime Branch.
Gundala Reddy Raghavendra (IPS, 2019) has been posted as SP, Jharsuguda, while Amritpal Kaur (IPS, 2021) has been posted as SP, Sundargarh.
This apart, OPS officer Bhawani Shankar Udgata has been posted as SP, Railway, Cuttack.
