Mumbai: In a major scare, two passenger planes collided on the ground at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Tuesday night. Significantly, both aircraft were carrying passengers at the time of the in

cident.

The collision occurred between Air India flight AI-2732, which was pushing back for its departure to Coimbatore, and IndiGo flight 6E-791, which was taxiing after arriving from Hyderabad.

The right wing tips of both the aircraft touched each other, reported ANI.

Details about the extent of damage to either aircraft, number of passengers onboard the two flights, and whether anyone was injured in the incident were not immediately available.

Both aircraft returned to the bay for inspections. Officers from DGCA Mumbai have reached the site to assess the assess the situation and investigate cause of the collision.
