Bhubaneswar: ‘Make In Odisha’ Conclave 2022 got off to a glittering start with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurating the mega event in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The third ediction of the state’s biennial flagship investment summit kicked off in the presence of a host of dignitaries after the chief minister formally announced it open at the sprawling and decked up Janata Maidan.
The distinguished delegates, guests and participants at the inaugural ceremony of the five-day event were treated to a spellbinding cultural show including Odishi recital.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister is scheduled to host a plenary session with CXOs and business leaders from across the country on Thursday as the state aims to attract over Rs 6 lakh crore investments at the biennial investment summit.
The event is likely to be attended by corporate tycoons, including Arcelor Mittal Executive Chairman L N Mittal, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Chairman of Vedanta Resources Anil Agarwal.
According to official sources, investors can explore opportunities in 26 sectors, including metal downstream, chemicals and petrochemicals, textiles and apparel, food processing, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), IT/ITeS and renewable energy, at the third edition of the conclave, which is being held after a gap of two years.
The state government is ready with seven sectoral policies to attract investment in the sectors.
Notably, nine countries are participating with their delegations while Japan, Germany and Norway have partnered with the Odisha government for the five-day event being organised in collaboration with FICCI.
