Puri: A Malaysian cargo ship ‘Jin Hwa 32’ landed at Rajhans, near the mouth of Chilika Lake on Wednesday night after losing direction in a storm in the Bay of Bengal.
According to sources, the ship carrying cargo from Malaysia had unloaded its shipment in Bangladesh. It was on its way to the Vishakhapatnam port to pick up new cargo. But the ship got caught in a storm in the Bay of Bengal and drifted towards Odisha.
The machine also developed a technical problem.
Meanwhile, the district administration and a team of Krushna Prasad police sent a technical team to repair the stranded ship.
There are seven Malaysians, two Filipinos and one Indian on the ship.
The villagers of Khirisahi near Rajhans have been providing food to the ship employees.
It may start its journey to Vishakhapatnam on Sunday.
