Ludhiana: The manager of a government bank was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Amarpura, in Punjab’s Ludhiana district, on Saturday.
The man, identified as Vinod Masih, was found hanging by the door wearing women’s undergarments, Punjab Police said.
Vinod’s landlord informed local councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu after he didn’t respond to repeated knocking on the entrance door. The councillor called police, who broke into the apartment and found Vinod’s body.
A forensic team was called to the spot before police sent the body for post-mortem.
Vinod, who celebrated his birthday three days ago, was from Ferozepur’s Wali Basti.
He had been living in a rented house for the last year and a half, and is survived by his wife and two children.
Police are looking at all angles, as foul play can’t be ruled out. How he breathed his last clad in female undergarments is a matter of intrigue to the investigators.
