Bhubaneswar: A male swamp deer died in an enclosure of Nandankana Zoological Park near Barang on the outskirts of the Odisha capital on Sunday morning.
Informing the media, deputy director of Nandankanan Jayant Das said the deer was suffering from prolonged stomach and liver ailments and was under treatment. The exact cause of the death will be ascertained after the postmortem, he added.
With the death of male deer, Nandankan has now 3 male deer, 5 female deer and 3 fawns.
