Malti Chahar Refutes Dating Rumours With Amaal Mallik; ‘We Met Only Once Before Bigg Boss 19’

Mumbai: After days of speculation, ‘Bigg Boss 19’ wild-card contestant Malti Chahar refuted dating rumours with singer Amaal Mallik, stating that she met him only once before coming to the reality show and urged people not to associate her name with his.

On Tuesday, setting the record straight, Malti took to X and wrote, “Let’s clear this once and for all. Amaal and I had no relationship or any kind of ‘ship.’ He asked for my number, and we met only once. We talked and shared some personal information. After that, we were in touch over the phone. That’s it! There was nothing else between us. On the show, when I said ‘bahar ki baat nahi karenge,’ I meant that I would not share his personal information.”

Criticising Amaal for his derogatory remarks about her and for implying that she was trying to impress him, Malti added, “It was disrespectful of Amaal to create a narrative on the show suggesting that I was trying to impress him and to make derogatory remarks about me, something I saw

only after coming out of the BB house. Yes, he mentioned his mental health a few times, both before and during the show. I was empathetic and tried to help in the moment so he wouldn’t have more regrets later. Now, I’m the one regretting it. That’s all. Spare me now. Please don’t associate my name with his. Thanks.”

In a conversation with Pinkvilla after her eviction from ‘Bigg Boss 19’, Malti denied dating Amaal. “In the show too, I said the same thing — that I had met Amaal only three months before this show started. So how could I become his girlfriend when we didn’t even get that much time? These days, we first get to know a person, then we date them. I don’t know about you, but that’s how I do it. It was only the phase where we simply knew each other. I was not his girlfriend.”

However, on ‘Bigg Boss 19’, Malti had contradicted Amaal’s claim that they met for just five minutes before participating in the reality show, thereby hinting at a special relationship between them.

She told the housemates that her meeting with Amaal lasted longer and that he even sang four songs for her, leading to speculation about being the ‘girlfriend or mystery girl’ the singer used to talk about.

However, Malti has now clarified that she is not dating Amaal and the statement she made about having met the singer for more than 5 minutes, wasn’t a hint about their relationship.
