New Delhi: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee will visit Kalighat Mandir for a pujo on January 22, the day of Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. From there, she will head to Hazira for a ‘Sarba Dharm’ rally, taking along people from all communities and religious places. The rally will end at Park Circus Maidan.
“I will hold a rally on January 22. I will perform Kali Pujo in Kalighat and then with people of all religions will join my rally upto Park Circus. This is my party’s program and any common person can come and join us. On that day, block-wise rallies will be held across Bengal with one theme — all religions are equal. People across religions and communities will be present at the rally,” she said.
Projecting the Pran Pratishtha as a political gimmick, she said, “The Metro rail has asked the WB government to relocate the skywalk for Metro expansion. The skywalk is a bridge through which pilgrims can reach Dakhineswar directly. I protested saying I will not relocate the skywalk. We built skywalk for pilgrims, but we did not do pran pratishtha because only priests can do it,” News 18 reported.
BJP’s Amit Malviya posted on X: “On the auspicious 22nd Jan 2024, when Bharat will be witnessing Pran Pratistha at Ram Mandir in Ayodhyadham, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, in brazen disregard of Hindu sentiments, has announced ‘Sarba Dharm’ rally, a political program in Kolkata and at blocks across Bengal. This is nothing but preparing ground for communal confrontation(s) on a day when Hindus will be fasting, observing rituals and visiting Temples. Everyone has seen how she allowed Ramanavami Shobha Yatras across Bengal to be stone pelted, when no such incident occurred during Hanumanotsav, just six days later, when central forces were deployed. We saw how sadhus were lynched in Purulia, just last week, while a criminal like Sheikh Shahjahan continues to abscond.”
“Mamata Banerjee should avoid stoking communal tension for political gains and reconsider her decision to hold political program(s) on the 22nd Jan. Law and order of the state is her responsibility and she alone will be responsible for any untoward incident(s) on that day.”
