Bhubaneswar: Taking a serious note of the death of lady school teacher Mamita Meher in Kalahandi district, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday raised question on safety of women in Odisha.
Quoting National Crime Records Bureau report, the BJP MP in a tweet said in crimes against women, Odisha has the distinction of being the 2nd best in the country.
“No wonder, a lady warden of a school has been murdered and a Minister is implicated. This is horrible,” Sarangi said in the tweet which carried the slogan ‘Justice For Mamita’.
Stating that women were unsafe in the state, she appealed to the national media to take a serious note of the issue.
