Jharsuguda: Continuing its pressure on the state government for arrest and resignation of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged link in Mamita Meher murder case, BJP has called for a six-hour Jharsuguda bandh on Saturday.
The BJP, which has been holding protests and demonstrations across the state on the issue, had threatened to gherao the police stations in all districts. The party has accused the government of protecting Minister Mishra despite the allegation of his close connection with prime accused Govind Sahu in the murder of teacher Mamita Meher of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district.
The BJP had observed 12-hour bandh in Balasore, Deogarh, Boudh, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts and 6-hour bandh in Bhadrak on October 30 to press its demand. It had also called 8-hour Bargarh bandh on November 1.
