Bhubaneswar: Balangir police on Friday filed the chargesheet in the Mamita Meher murder case.
The police submitted the chargesheet against prime accused Govind Sahu and his driver Radhe in JMFC court at Bangomunda in the district. The chargesheet, containing more than 2000 pages, was filed just four days before the end of 120 days of the court remand of Sahu.
It may be noted that 26-year-old Mamita, who served as a teacher in Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi, had gone missing on October 8 last year. Following a statewide outcry, the police arrested Sahu on October 19.
Later, Sahu’s interrogation led the police to dig out the charred body of Mamita from the ground of an under-construction stadium of the school. Sahu’s driver was also arrested after investigation confirmed his involvement in the crime.
